Apple Crisp
INGREDIENTS
- 2.5 lbs Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced about 1/4" thick
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 c packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c rolled oats
- 1/3 c AP flour
- 1/2 stick cold butter, cut into small pieces, plus more to grease the pan
PREPARATION
- Heat oven to 375.
- Grease 8" square pan with butter.
- Combine apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon of the salt in a large bowl and toss to coat.
- Place in the prepared baking pan. Set aside.
- In the same bowl, combine brown sugar, oats, flour, and remaining 1/8 teaspoon salt until evenly mixed.
- With your fingers, blend in the butter until small clumps form, about 2 minutes.
- Sprinkle the topping on the apples.
- Bake 50-60 minutes, until the topping is crispy and the apples are tender.
- Let cool on a rack 30 minutes before serving.
