Beans & Greens Chowder
INGREDIENTS
- 1-1/2 c chicken broth
- 1-1/2 c chopped onion
- 1 can light red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1-1/2 c frozen cut okra
- 2 tsp jar garlic
- 1 tsp savory
- 1 c baby spinach
- salt & pepper to taste
- 4 slices bacon, diced, fried and drained.
PREPARATION
- combine all ingredients except spinach, salt, pepper and bacon in slow cooker.
- Cook on high 3 hours.
- Add spinach and continue cooking for 15 minutes.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle each serving with bacon.
