Buttery Spinach-Havarti Bake
INGREDIENTS
- 2/3 c panko
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1/4 c butter
- 1/4 c AP flour
- 1 12-oz can evaporated milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp white pepper
- 1/8 tsp cayenne
- 3 10-oz packages spinach, thawed and squeezed
- 4 oz Havarti, sliced
PREPARATION
- Heat oven to 400.
- Lightly spray 13" x 9" pan with cooking spray
- Topping: Combine panko and 1/4 c butter.
- Heat the 1/2 c butter over medium until melted; add flour.
- Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
- Gradually stir in evaporated milk.
- Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
- Stir in salt and peppers.
- Stir in spinach.
- Spread half of mixture in prepared pan.
- Top with half the cheese.
- Repeat layers.
- Sprinkle with topping.
- Bake uncovered for 30-45 minutes or until cheese is melted and topping is golden.
- Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
