---++ Chicken with 40 Cloves of Garlic ---+++ Ingredients * 2 Tbsp butter * 40 cloves garlic (peeled) -- about 4 heads * 8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs * 2 onions, finely chopped * 4 stalks celery, chopped * 1 tsp dried thyme * 1 Tbsp salt * 1/4 tsp nutmeg * 1/2 c white wine or vermouth ---+++ PREPARATION 1. Melt butter over medium-low heat. 1. Add garlic and cook, stirring often until it begins to soften and turn golden. 1. Remove garlic to slow cooker. 1. Brown chicken on medium-high heat and add to slow cooker. 1. Add onion and celery and cook until softened. 1. Add seasonings and cook one minute. 1. Add wine/vermouth and bring to a boil; pour over chicken. 1. Cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 2.5-3 hours. 1. Serve with mashed potatoes -- Main.JMagGuthrie - 11 Oct 2010
