---++ English Porridge ---+++ INGREDIENTS * 1.5 c milk * 1.5 c water * 1.5 tsp flake salt (less if using grain salt) * 1/2 c old fashioned oats * 1/2 c steel cut oats * 2 Tbsp sugar or maple syrup ---+++ PREPARATION 1 Put milk, water and salt in a saucepan and heat over high. 1 As soon as it simmers, add both oats and lower heat to medium. 1 Cook at a simmer for 20 minutes. The steel cut oats should be just tender and pop when you bite them and the old fashioned oats should be creamy. 1 Turn off the heat. Add the sugar or syrup to taste.
