APRS uses 1200 BPS AFSK on 144.39. I'm looking at doing a crystal-controlled transmitter for 9600 BPS G3RUH modulation on 445.925. G3RUH is FSK where the shift is exactly half the data rate, so the shift would be 4800 Hz, which should be well within the capabilities of "rubbering" the crystal, especially if I'm doing the sort of multiplication required to convert the crystal to the 70cm frequency.
