Hot Spiced Drunken Cider
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 gallon good unfiltered cider
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 vanilla bean split lengthwise
- 3-4 Tbsp honey
- 20 oz (2.5 c) gewurztraminer wine
- 1 c fresh cranberries
PREPARATION
- Put the cider, the spices, and 3 Tbsp of the honey in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer 10 minutes for flavors to blend.
- Add wine, do not boil again.
- Add the cranberries; simmer until the color the liquid. Add more honey if needed.
