---++ Malted Guinness Beer Bread ---+++ INGREDIENTS * 3 c flour * 1/2 c malted wheat flakes * 2/3 c packed brown sugar * 1 1/2 tsp baking powder * 1 1/2 tsp baking soda * 1/4 tsp salt * 1 bottle Guinness stout, room temperature * 1 Tbsp barley malt syrup * 2 Tbsp melted butter * 1 Tbsp malted wheat flakes ---+++ PREPARATION 1. Heat oven to 375 1. Grease 8" x 4" loaf pan 1. Place first six ingredients in a large bowl. 1. Whisk to combine 1. Slowly pour in Guinness and add the barley malt syrup. 1. Use a wooden spoon to stir until no dry patches remain. 1. Scoop batter into prepared pan 1. Pour melted butter over top then scatter malted wheat flakes over. 1. Bake 50-55 minutes or until the cruse is browned and a skewer inserted in center comes out clean. 1. Cool 15 minutes on wire rack; turn out of pan and finish cooling.
