Pecan Pie (no corn syrup)
INGREDIENTS
- 9" deep dish pie crust
- 1/2 c (1 stick) UNsalted butter
- 3 Tbsp flour
- 2-1/8 c light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp vanilla-butternut flavor (optional)
- 6 Tbsp milk
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp vinegar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1-1/2 c pecan pieces & halves
PREPARATION
- Preheat the oven to 425.
- Melt the butter and set it aside to cool.
- in large bowl, mix flour, sugar and salt.
- Add milk and eggs, beat well.
- Stir in the vinegar, vanilla and flavoring, then the butter and nuts.
- Pour the mixture into the crust and bake for 45-50 minutes--until the filling is set most of the way to the center, leaving a 1-1/2" puddle that's still jiggly in the middle.
- Remove from oven and cool completely before slicing.
