Spicy German Bratwurst
INGREDIENTS
- 10 bratwurst links
- 1 bottle beer
- 1/2 c chili sauce
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 c ketchup
- 1/2 c cider vinegar
- 1/2 c lightly packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 2 onions stringed
- 3 russets, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
PREPARATION
- Prick bratwurst
- Cook for 15 minutes in water, Remove and discard water
- Combine beer, chili sauce, Worcestershire, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, and nutmeg.
- Bring to a boil; reduce to low.
- Layer onions, potatoes, and bratwurst; season with salt and pepper.
- Cover, simmer for 1.5 hours.
