Spicy German Bratwurst

INGREDIENTS

  • 10 bratwurst links
  • 1 bottle beer
  • 1/2 c chili sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c ketchup
  • 1/2 c cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 onions stringed
  • 3 russets, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

PREPARATION

  1. Prick bratwurst
  2. Cook for 15 minutes in water, Remove and discard water
  3. Place brats in slow cooker.
  4. Layer potatoes and onions over brats.
  5. Combine beer, chili sauce, Worcestershire, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour over everything.
  7. Cover. Cook on LOW 7-8 hours.
