Barmbrack Bread
INGREDIENTS
- 1 c strong English breakfast tea
- 1 c raisins
- 1/2 c milk
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp butter, cut into bits
- 2 c bread flour
- 1 c whole wheat flour
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp yeast
PREPARATION
- Let tea cool to room temperature
- Soak the raisins in the tea 4 hours or overnight.
- Place tea and raisins in bread machine.
- Add milk, egg, and butter.
- Add remaining ingredients, in order.
- Process on whole wheat cycle for medium loaf.
