Beans & Greens Chowder

INGREDIENTS

  • 1-1/2 c chicken broth
  • 1-1/2 c chopped onion
  • 1 can light red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1-1/2 c frozen cut okra
  • 2 tsp jar garlic
  • 1 tsp savory
  • 1 c baby spinach
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 4 slices bacon, diced, fried and drained.

PREPARATION

  1. combine all ingredients except spinach, salt, pepper and bacon in slow cooker.
  2. Cook on high 3 hours.
  3. Add spinach and continue cooking for 15 minutes.
  4. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  5. Sprinkle each serving with bacon.
