Canadian Bacon Split Pea Soup
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb split peas
- 1 4-oz pkg Canadian bacon, diced
- 2 good pork chops, trimmed of fat
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 carrots, sliced
- 4 tsp jar garlic
- 4 celery ribs, sliced, including leaves
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- 2 tsp salt
- 6 c chicken broth
PREPARATION
- Rinse and sort peas.
- Combine everything in crock.
- Cover and cook 8-9 hours on low.
- Remove pork chops and shred, return to soup
- Cook on low 30 minutes.
- Discard bay leaf and serve.
