Candied Yams
Ingredients
1 tsp salt |
1/4 c butter |
3/4 c water |
1 c brown sugar |
2 Tbsp cornstarch |
40-oz can yams |
Combine salt, butter and water in a good-sized saucepan over medium heat.
In a small bowl, combine sugar and cornstarch. Add to saucepan, mixing well.
Add the yams, cook for 10 minutes--until sauce starts to thicken.
Spoon into lightly greased 2-qt baking dish. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.
