Caramelized Onion and Bacon Dip

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Tbsp EVOO
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 3 red onions, sliced into thin strings
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 c grated Parmesan
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

PREPARATION

  1. Heat the oil in a skillet.
  2. Cook bacon in oil until crisp, remove to paper towels.
  3. Cook the onions in the fat in the pan about 15 minutes, stirring frequently, until softened and slightly caramelized.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool.
  5. Combine ingredients; chill.
