Maple Whiskey Glazed Beef Brisket
Ingredients
- 1 tsp ground red pepper
- 1 Tbsp coarse salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1.5 - 2 lbs beef brisket, scored with a knife on both sides
- 2 Tbsp EVOO
- 1/2 c maple syrup
- 1/4 c whiskey
- 2 Tbsp packed brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp tomato paste
- juice of one orange
- 2 mashed cloves garlic
- 1 tsp fresh ginger
- zest of one orange
Preparation
Combine red pepper, salt and pepper in small mixing bowl, rub over brisket. Put in bag, set aside
Combine oil, syrup, whiskey, tomato paste, sugar, juice, garlic, ginger, and orange zest. Pour over brisket in bag
Marinate 2 hours to overnight.
put all in crock, cook on low 7-9 hours, turning brisket once or twice.
