Pecan Pie (cast iron skillet)

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pie crust (refrigerated or homemade)
  • 1 Tbsp powdered sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1-1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c butter, melted and cooled to room temperature
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/2 c chopped pecans
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1-12 tsp bourbon
  • 1-1/2 c pecan halves

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Fit pie crust in large (10") skillet.
  3. Dust pie crust with powdered sugar.
  4. Whisk eggs in a large bowl until foamy; Whisk in brown sugar and other ingredients except pecan halves.
  5. Pour mixture into pie crust; top with pecan halves.
  6. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes; reduce heat to 325 and bake additional 30 minutes.
  7. Turn oven off and let pie stay in oven 3 hours.
