Apple Crisp
INGREDIENTS
2.5 lbs Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced about 1/4" thick
3 Tbsp sugar
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c packed brown sugar
1/2 c rolled oats
1/3 c AP flour
1/2 stick cold butter, cut into small pieces, plus more to grease the pan
PREPARATION
Heat oven to 375.
Grease 8" square pan with butter.
Combine apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon of the salt in a large bowl and toss to coat.
Place in the prepared baking pan. Set aside.
In the same bowl, combine brown sugar, oats, flour, and remaining 1/8 teaspoon salt until evenly mixed.
With your fingers, blend in the butter until small clumps form, about 2 minutes.
Sprinkle the topping on the apples.
Bake 50-60 minutes, until the topping is crispy and the apples are tender.
Let cool on a rack 30 minutes before serving.
