---++ Beef a la Mode
---+++ INGREDIENTS
   * 2 lb roast, cut into serving pieces
   * 1/2 lb bacon or salt pork, cut up
   * 3 onions, chopped
   * pepper to taste
   * water
---+++ PREPARATION
   1. Place beef and pork in slow cooker
   1. Sprinkle onions over top
   1. Add pepper. 
   1. Pour water alongside, about 1" deep.
   1. Cover, cook on LOW 6-8 hours
   1. Serve over mashed potatoes.
