---++ Bowties with Sausage, Tomatoes, and Cream ---+++ INGREDIENTS * 2 Tbsp EVOO * 1 lb sweet Italian sausage * 1 onion, chopped * 3 cloves garlic, minced * 1 28-oz can crushed tomatoes with puree * 1/2 c heavy whipping cream * 16 oz bowtie or other pasta * 1/2 c chopped fresh basil * grated parm or romano for serving ---+++ PREPARATION 1. Heat oil in mondo skillet over medium-high. Add sausage. 1. Saute until no longer pink, breaking it up, about 5 minutes. 1. Add onion and garlic, saute until onion is tender and sausage is brown, 3 minutes longer. 1. Add tomatoes and cream. 1. Reduce heat to low and simmer until it thickens, about 3 minutes. 1. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 1. Meanwhile cook pasta till al dente. Reserve 1 c cooking water and drain. 1. Return pasta to same pot. 1. Add sausage mixture and toss, cooking over medium-low until sauce coats the pasta, adding reserved cooking liquid by 1/4 cupfuls if mixture is too dry. 1. Sprinkle with basil. 1. Serve with cheese.
