Braised Pork Chops & Cabbage
INGREDIENTS
1/2 green cabbage, cut in half and sliced
1 onion, chopped
1 tsp jar garlic
4 thick pork chops
3/4 c chicken broth
salt and pepper
3 Tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp dried sage
1 pinch nutmeg
oil for frying
PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 400.
Heat a little oil in mondo skillet and brown pork chops on both sides. Set aside.
If necessary, add oil and cook onion for 3 minutes, add garlic and cook 10 seconds. Set aside.
If necessary, add oil and cook the cabbage for 2 minutes.
In one of the glass casseroles, layer 1/3 of the cabbage, 1/2 the onion and two pork chops. Repeat then top with cabbage.
Combine broth and tomato paste and pour over.
Bake, covered for one hour.
