Gouda, Bacon, and Apple Mac & Cheese

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 c shells
  • 4 c milk
  • 1 c shredded Gouda (about 4 oz)
  • 1 c shredded white cheddar (4 oz)
  • 1/2 c bacon, diced, cooked, drained
  • 1/2 c apple butter
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh rosemary or 2 tsp dried
  • salt & pepper to taste

PREPARATION

  1. Bring pasta and milk to simmer.
  2. Reduce heat and cook 15-20 minutes until pasta is tender and most of milk is absorbed.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients. Remove from heat.
  4. Let rest 5 minutes to thicken, then stir before serving
