Hot Spiced Drunken Cider
INGREDIENTS
1/2 gallon good unfiltered cider
4 cinnamon sticks
4 cloves
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 vanilla bean split lengthwise
3-4 Tbsp honey
20 oz (2.5 c) gewurztraminer wine
1 c fresh cranberries
PREPARATION
Put the cider, the spices, and 3 Tbsp of the honey in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce heat to low and simmer 10 minutes for flavors to blend.
Add wine, do not boil again.
Add the cranberries; simmer until the color the liquid. Add more honey if needed.
