Pecan Pie in a Jar Instructions

What You Need for Two 9-inch pies

  • Pecan Pie in a Jar (as purchased from KBB)
  • 2 9-inch Pie Crusts (store bought or blind baked)
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter or margarine (optional)

What You Need for One 9-inch "Deep Dish" pie

  • Pecan Pie in a Jar (as purchased from KBB)
  • 1 9-inch Deep Dish Pie Crust (store bought or blind baked)
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 tablespooons melted butter or margarine (optional)

Make It

Heat oven to 300°F

  1. Remove jar lid and microwave the jar on high for 1 minute to facilitate filling removal.
  2. Beat eggs in a large mixing bowl with a fork until yolks and whites are mixed.
  3. Add optional melted butter or margarine to eggs
  4. Stir contents of jar into eggs, blend with a fork until well mixed
  5. Pour into pie shell(s)
  6. Bake. Single Deep Dish pie bakes for 1hr 20min at 300°F. Two regular pies back for 50 min at 300°F
  7. Test for doneness by shaking pie gently. Center should jiggle like set gelatin. The center will fall when removed from the oven.
  8. Cool for four hours until set or overnight.
