Pecan Pie (no corn syrup)

INGREDIENTS

  • 9" deep dish pie crust
  • 1/2 c (1 stick) UNsalted butter
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 2-1/8 c light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla-butternut flavor (optional)
  • 6 Tbsp milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1-1/2 c pecan pieces & halves

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat the oven to 425.
  2. Melt the butter and set it aside to cool.
  3. in large bowl, mix flour, sugar and salt.
  4. Add milk and eggs, beat well.
  5. Stir in the vinegar, vanilla and flavoring, then the butter and nuts.
  6. Pour the mixture into the crust and bake for 45-50 minutes--until the filling is set most of the way to the center, leaving a 1-1/2" puddle that's still jiggly in the middle.
  7. Remove from oven and cool completely before slicing.
