Rice Pudding

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 quart milk
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 6 Tbsp sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Toppings

PREPARATION

  1. Place milk, rice, sugar, and salt in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Lower to a bare simmer and cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender and the mixture thickens, about 20 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Taste, adding additional sugar or toppings as desired.
