Whiskey Fudge
INGREDIENTS
- 5 c sugar (2 lbs)
- 2 sticks unsalted butter
- 1 c milk
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 25 large marshmallows, ripped in half
- 11.5 oz good 60% cocoa bittersweet chips
- 2 1/2 c powdered sugar
- 3/4 c good whiskey (you will be able to taste it)
PREPARATION
- Whisk whiskey with powdered sugar--set aside.
- Foil and butter a 13" x 9" or larger pan.
- Put sugar, butter, milk and vanilla in Dutch oven
- Bring to a boil, stirring steadily.
- Boil exactly 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat.
- Add marshmallows and chocolate, stirring until all is melted.
- Give whiskey mixture a quick stir, then add to the pot, stirring until incorporated.
- Pour into prepared pan.
- Chill. Let mellow for a day before cutting.
